Benchmark Genetics Iceland’s office is based in the city of Hafnafjordur. It is in close distance from the capital Reykjavik and the Keflavik airport. The local genetics team manages and supervises the StofnFiskur breeding program. The local sales team organizes export of eggs.

Being in the forefront of biosecurity in the industry, the fish health and quality team plays an important role in the organization. The Benchmark Genetics Iceland operations obtained a status as OIE compartments in 2015 and was approved by the Chilean fisheries and aquaculture authorities, Sernapesca in 2016. This approval was renewed in 2019. Benchmark is currently the only company in the world with an authorization to export Atlantic salmon ova to Chile.
