Our team will be available at the stand at the Fair (C-28), where executives and professionals will have important business meetings, promoting the concept of “effective genetics”, and will show the successful results obtained in the production of salmon ova in Chile.
In full swing are the preparations by Benchmark Genetics Chile to ensure successful participation in AquaSur 2024, the biennial event that combines an aquaculture fair with the involvement of the main companies that provide services to the aquaculture industry at the global level, and an international congress that unites authorities, producers, stakeholders, and opinion leaders, to exchange experiences, knowledge, and analyzing together the future challenges for the aquaculture sector.
The encounter will be held between March 19 and 21, at the Logistics Center TMP in Puerto Montt, in the Los Lagos Region. The precinct will, for the first time, welcome over 400 exhibitors, becoming thus the main meeting place for the aquaculture industry, both national and international.
This year, our team will participate in AquaSur with the two main areas that currently operate in Chile: Benchmark Genetics, a leading provider in genetics for aquaculture with a presence in the main markets around the globe, and Benchmark Animal Health, a leading provider of medicinal sea lice treatments with wide experience in supplying medicine against fish lice and treatment systems of purifying water post-treatment.
In this event, Benchmark Genetics will have a full agenda, that considers, among other activities, field visits with clients and authorities; an interesting intervention in the AquaSur 2024 International Congress, as well as business meetings and comradery reunions at the C-28 stand at the fair, where executives and professionals will be giving out information about the products and services that are offered in the country, as well as the advances and successful results reached in the production of Atlantic Salmon ova in Chile.

Berta explains that in this respect, our team has developed an important work with our clients in Chile, defining, from the beginning, the objectives for the salmon ova supplied to the market and the productive challenges that we must face. Once the ova is delivered to the hatchery, we will keep monitoring the ova’s development to observe the results and improve the next generation. Our clients may also access a complete bio-economic analysis, which transforms the results observed into information. This is very useful for our clients since it allows them to make better decisions and run their salmon production more sustainably.
