Our objective is to develop products that have a positive impact on the sustainability of aquaculture. Genetics is the very starting point of the production chain in aquaculture. Every improvement of efficiency or survivability will contribute to a more sustainable end-product.

Because genetics are live products, animal welfare and fish health are direct outputs of what we do. Sustainable farming system is not only a benefit for the animals and the environment, but actually essential contributors to the success of our customers.

Every industry impacts its environment in some ways. We aim to reduce our GHG emissions and waste to a minimum level in all of our operations across geographical lines and species.

Benchmark Genetics Norway became a member of the network Klimapartnere in May 2019. The company has set ambitious goals to become climate neutral by 2025 and fossile free by 2030.

We care for our people and empower them to reach their potential.

We engage with our employees through the Employee Champion representatives and the monthly Town Hall meetings led by the Executive Management Team. To promote well-being, Benchmark has trained a team of Mental Health First Aiders across the group, who serve as a confidential point of contact for employees experiencing issues related to mental health.

We contribute to improvements for broader communities, making a meaningful and positive impact on the communities in which we operate – for its people, animals, and the environment. We have a policy allowing employees to take two days off to volunteer for a chosen charity.
