Benchmark Genetics is pleased to announce several key leadership appointments that reflect our commitment to innovation, sustainable growth, and organizational excellence across the business.

Dr. Ross Houston has been appointed Chief Scientific Officer, with global responsibility for research and development, breeding programmes, and product design. Since joining Benchmark in 2022, Ross has played a pivotal role in advancing genomic technologies and will now lead our scientific direction to further strengthen our position in applied aquaculture genetics.

Jon Crowther has been appointed Chief Financial Officer, with responsibility for all aspects of financial management across the organisation. A PwC-trained chartered accountant, Jon has been Finance Director of Benchmark Genetics since its formation in 2014 and is based in the UK. Prior to joining Benchmark, he held senior finance roles across a range of sectors, including nine years as UK Controller at GE. As CFO, Jon oversees finance teams in Norway, Iceland, Chile, the USA, the UK, and Colombia, and played a key role in the recent transition of ownership from Benchmark Holdings to Novo Holdings.

Bruno Decock has been promoted to Head of Benchmark Genetics Shrimp, where he will lead the strategic growth of our shrimp genetics operations. With more than two decades of global aquaculture experience, Bruno will oversee our breeding programme in Colombia and multiplication centre in the USA, supplying high-quality shrimp genetics to customers worldwide.

Julius Steinn Kristjansson has been appointed Global People Director, responsible for shaping and implementing our HR strategy across all locations. With extensive experience in HR leadership, Julius will focus on building a strong organisational culture and supporting our people in delivering on Benchmark’s global ambitions.

Kristine Bringslid has taken on the role of QHSE Global Manager (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment), effective from the 1st of June, 2025. Kristine has been with the company since August 2023 as Quality Manager for Benchmark Genetics Norway, where she played a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance and certification standards. In her new role, she will lead our global QHSE efforts and further develop systems to support our commitment to responsible and sustainable aquaculture operations.
