For decades, this small community has managed to attract international experts within genetics, aquaculture, and the aluminium industry. They are represented by Benchmark Genetics, Nofima and Hydro Aluminium.
Initially our genetics team in Sunndalsøra went by the name of Akvaforsk Genetics Center. They were known as a world-leading centre of expertise within applied genetics services for aquaculture. Being a part of Benchmark since 2015, the Sunndalsøra office still service a significant number of external breeding programs around the globe in addition to our five in-house programs.
