Once again, Benchmark Genetics will participate as an exhibitor at the international fair AquaSur 2026, which will take place from March 24 to 26 in the Los Lagos region. At stand M-40, executives and researchers – both national and international – will share with attendees the potential of the advanced genetic services the company offers to aquaculture producers in Chile and Latin America.
Benchmark Genetics is embarking on a new stage in Chile and LATAM, supported by a robust portfolio that includes the design and technical support for genetic programs; broodstock evaluation and provision of mating lists for nucleus and multiplier lines, technical reviews and audits, genotyping, cryopreservation laboratory services and bioeconomic modeling for improved decision-making.

During the fair, the executive team of Benchmark Genetics in Chile will be present, including the expert technical team. They will be joined by Dr. Morten Rye, Director of Genetic Services and International Strategy at Benchmark Genetics, Bruno Decock, Global Commercial Director, Genetic Services and Dr. Maria Nayfa, Business Development Manager, Genetic Services. These professionals will be available to provide information and address inquiries on how cutting-edge genetic tools can optimize performance and sustainability in aquaculture production.
Benchmark Genetics will also have an active role in the AquaSur 2026 International Congress, a conference held in the same venue that will bring together renowned national and international speakers to analyze the main challenges and opportunities in the global aquaculture industry.
On Wednesday, March 25 from 15:45 to 16:30 Dr. Morten Rye will participate as a panelist in the workshop “EDIGEN: Perspectives on the Application of Gene Editing in the Global Aquaculture Industry,” where both the opportunities and challenges of this technology will be discussed.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, March 26 from 15:15 to 15:30 in Session 6 on “Disruptive Technologies for Sustainable Aquaculture Production,” Benchmark Genetics’ senior geneticist, Dr. Baltasar García, will deliver the presentation “Comprehensive Genetic Solutions for Sustainable and Competitive Aquaculture.”

For Benchmark Genetics, participating once again in the most important aquaculture fair in the Southern Hemisphere is highly motivating, as it allows the company to present to aquaculture producers the genetic services that can transform production not only of salmon but also of numerous aquaculture species cultivated in the LATAM market.
