As CFO at Benchmark Genetics, you will play a key role in shaping the company’s financial and strategic direction. You will build on a solid foundation through sound financial management, targeted capital allocation, and strategic investments.
With responsibility for the company’s overall financial performance, you will serve as a key sparring partner to the CEO and the Board, contributing to the realization of Benchmark Genetics’ ambitions for continued growth and development.
We are looking for a candidate who has:
- 5+ years of experience in a senior financial management position, preferably within the seafood industry or a related sector.
- A master’s degree in economics, finance, auditing, or a similar field.
- Strong understanding of financial management, business development, and strategic planning.
- Excellent analytical skills combined with the ability to see the bigger picture and long-term perspective.
- Strong communication skills in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken.
- Experience with modern financial systems, digital analysis tools, and reporting solutions.
- Proven leadership abilities.
- Strong collaboration skills that contribute to an effective and positive working environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the company’s overall financial strategy in close cooperation with group management, and actively contribute to the development of long-term goals and business plans
- Lead the company’s financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and continuous monitoring of financial performance
- Oversee cash flow, capital structure, and investment portfolio to ensure optimal capital utilization for further growth
- Prepare accurate reports for management and the Board, and contribute to data-driven decision-making through solid analyses
- Identify, analyze, and manage financial risks related to company performance, commitments, investments, and currency exposure
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and reporting requirements related to accounting, taxation, and sustainability
- Lead and develop the finance department, promoting efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement across all processes
- Monitor investment activities and provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board regarding capital allocation and growth opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, banks, other financial institutions, and external auditors to strengthen the company’s external position
- Ensure that all banking obligations are fulfilled
