Det er seks kjente undertyper av viruset, hvorav SAV2 og SAV3 er de vanligste typene i Norge. Den vanligste smittem\u00e5ten for sykdom er horisontal, gjennom kontakt med infisert laksefisk. De f\u00f8rste tegnene p\u00e5 infeksjon er vanligvis br\u00e5 spisestopp, etterfulgt av endret sv\u00f8mmem\u00f8nster. Etter det kan man forvente h\u00f8y d\u00f8delighet, vekstreduksjon og d\u00e5rligere filetkvalitet. Det finnes ingen god behandling mot pankreassykdom, men flere vaksiner gir en viss grad av beskyttelse mot sykdommen.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p>Benchmark Genetics tilbyr PD robust rogn gjennom QTL og GS. Vi har drevet familieseleksjon p\u00e5 sykdommen (SAV3) siden 2009. I 2011 la vi til en QTL for PD-overlevelse (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/hdy201537\">Gonen et al., 2015<\/a>). I 2018 tok vi i bruk en ny biologisk mark\u00f8r for \u00e5 m\u00e5le PD resistens, og vi har siden da selektert for SAV2 ved bruk av QTL og for SAV3 med en kombinasjon av QTL og GS.<\/p>\n<p>Benchmark Genetics har kontinuerlig jobbet med PD-resistens gjennom v\u00e5re <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmkgenetics.com\/no\/about\/om-oss\/innovasjon\/\">eksterne og interne FoU-prosjekter<\/a>. Dette gj\u00f8res for \u00e5 forbedre kvaliteten og optimalisere fenotypem\u00e5let av den genetiske egenskapen som \u00f8ker PD-resistens. Vi s\u00f8ker kontinuerlig og begrenser oss til \u00e5rsaksgenene som gj\u00f8r fisken PD-resistent og utnytter de optimale biomark\u00f8rene som \u00f8ker PD-resistensen i produktene v\u00e5re (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC7316828\/\">Aslam et al., 2020<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/bmcgenomics.biomedcentral.com\/articles\/10.1186\/s12864-020-06788-4\">Hillestad et al.<\/a>, 2020; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41598-020-57786-1\">Robinson et al., 2020<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Fra 2018 har Benchmark Genetics selektert individer som ikke bare er mer resistente mot SAV3 (<a href=\"https:\/\/bmcgenomics.biomedcentral.com\/articles\/10.1186\/s12864-020-06788-4\">Hillestad et al., 2020<\/a>), men som ogs\u00e5 viser en overlegen vekstevne etter infeksjon.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-image align_center meta_simple\"><div class=\"w-image-h\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"307\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bmkgenetics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/210115_manhattan_plot_SF2017-2PD-1-1024x307.png\" class=\"attachment-large size-large\" alt=\"Figure showing the genome-wide association of PD (SAV3) resistance in our populations.
